A Look Back…

Soon we will bid farewell to 2015 and say hello to a new year filled with endless possibilities. Most of us take this time to reflect upon the year which has passed, and we at the Oasis Movement are no different; this year’s blogs where, serious, informative, funny, and thought provoking; we hoped you enjoyed reading them as much as we enjoyed writing them. Over the last year our social media audience has grown, and we are proud to say our followers span the globe. We are always humbled when so many of you take the time out of your busy lives to read one of our posts and even more so when you leave your comments.
One of our most popular blog posts this year was “The Necessity of Kindness” (oasismovement.wordpress.com/2015/03/04/the-necessity-of-kindness/), posted when the Greater Toronto Area was celebrating Kindness Week (March 1-7). This blog focused on the positive effects acts of kindness can yield when directed towards those who were struggling with addiction. We maintained that “When we are kind to those who suffer from addiction we are showing them there is another way, a different way from the cruelty to which they are so accustomed.”  Today we would like to take this sentiment one step further; when we are kind to ALL OF THOSE who are suffering from WHATEVER misfortune has befallen them, we show them another way, a different way from what they have become accustomed. This year make it your resolution to be kind whenever you can, and to whomever; an act of kindness however small, can change someone’s perspective for the better. Could you imagine if we all made it our priority to practise kindness what a different world this would be?
We wish you all a healthy and happy 2016
